The future of mobile location will see the integration of location-enabled features and insights into every product you touch and every process you engage in during the course of your life, providing great efficiencies and incredibly valuable insights.

The combination of structured data with your social graph is the next big trend in mobile. There’s powerful structured data around places, objects and things that when combined with a social layer can generate and sustain a whole new class of apps. It’s easier than ever for developers to tap into APIs and publicly available data sources to build new sets of killer applications.

You might ask yourself why so many German founders decide to start a copy cat. I think the reason is deeply rooted in our culture. German people are usually relatively risk averse compared to for example the US. We like to make the ‘safe bet’. Copy cats are a pretty safe bet compared to hacking something completely new without any monetization model behind right out of your dorm room. Failure in Germany is still perceived as something negative which is ridiculous since failing is usually the best learning experience you can get in life. Many people are stuck in their risk aversity and try to navigate through life without collecting a track record of epic fails.

Social Media ist in Zukunft nicht mehr allein Thema der Kommunikationsabteilungen, es wird Teil von allem, was ein Unternehmen tut. Sei das nun die interne Entwicklung von Ideen, die Kollaboration mit engagierten Kunden oder die Vernetzung mit Partnerunternehmen. Dabei wird sich der “Social Layer” eng mit dem “Business Layer” verknüpfen. Maßnahmen im Social Web werden sich an den Business-Prozessen eines Unternehmens orientieren und auch an ihnen gemessen.

Bei aller Verschiedenheit schätzen fast alle Jugendlichen traditionelle Werte wie Sicherheit, Pflichtbewusstsein, Familie und Freundschaft. Demut. Die kulturelle Vielfalt von uns Menschen ist viel größer, als wir angenommen haben. Viele über Jahre verfestigte Vorstellungen von uns stehen im Grunde auf sehr wackeligem Grund - und damit ist nicht nur die Kunstfigur des Homo oeconomicus gemeint. Je intensiver man über unsere Art forscht, desto mehr verschwimmen viele Grenzen. Wenn das aber der Fall ist, sollten wir aufhören, unsere beschränkte Sicht der Dinge als Pars pro Toto für die Gesamtheit anzusehen.
